CHALLENGED.

SUPPORTED.

UNDERSTOOD.

I believe that gifted learners are among the most misunderstood and underserved populations that exist within a school district.  Most of my work is dedicated to helping educators, parents, and learners, themselves, understand what giftedness is, what it isn't, and how we can serve gifted learners in manageable and meaningful ways.

I also believe that teachers deserve to experience the same during professional learning. It is always my goal to challenge their thinking, support them where they are, engage them through storytelling and authenticity, and understand their reality.

I almost walked away from education because I didn't know how to engage today's learners.

Yep, you read that correctly.  I almost walked away from it all as a result of feeling as if I was just spinning my wheels.  I felt like someone turned the lights off and I lost my passion for teaching. Then, I realized that I needed to shift from being a traditional teacher that did what was easy to an innovative educator that did what was BEST.

I began to look for meaningful ways to engage and empower my gifted learners and that's when I found Genius Hour.  I spent 16 years serving my students and now I spend my time serving educators through telling my story and sharing my experience.

"Andi was the keynote at our conference at a time of uncertainty during the middle of the COVID pandemic. She instantly bonded with our audience of nervous, exhausted teachers and had them chiming into discussions and polls. They enjoyed her real-world applications and hands-on style and have been begging to have her back!" - Melissa Saphos, ESC Region 6

"Andi changed the way that I saw PD.  She reignited my passion as a learner and therefore as a teacher.  I consistently walk out of her PD feeling a renewed sense of purpose and hope for my classroom and the next generation of learners." - Megan Puckett, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD
